Mpiani Disappointed With Civil Service

Mr. Kwadwo O. Mpiani, the Chief of Staff, yesterday expressed disappointment with the activities of the civil service saying that it had not been responsive to the needs of the contemporary Ghanaian Society.

The overall performance of the service has been questioned by government, the private sector and the public for its inability to turn the fulcrum to propel the growth of the economy, he noted.

He was speaking at the opening of a 10-day special orientation for eight newly appointed Chief Directors for some ministries.

According to him, some of the concerns raised about the civil service include lack of vision, mission and a clear sense of direction, ineffective leadership and weak management, low morale and negative corporate image and excessive bureaucracy and delays.
