Mpasatia initiates development projects

Mpasatia (Ash), May 31, GNA – The chiefs and people of Mpasatia in the Atwima-Mponua district have drawn up a five-year development plan estimated at 900 million cedis.

Nana Okyere Karikari Apau, chief of Mpasatia, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency at the weekend, said the projects include the construction of a police station, post office and street drains. He said the projects would be funded through self-help by a special levy of 30,000 cedis per male and 15,000 cedis per female for resident citizens, while non-residents would pay 150,000 and 100,000 cedis per male and female respectively.

The chief has therefore, appealed to his people to cultivate communal spirit and patriotism to help achieve the projects envisaged under the plan.

Nana Karikari Apau also advised his people to do away with backbiting, hatred, litigations and blackmail, which undermined the development of communities.
