MP urges support for government towards national development

Nkawkaw (E/R), March 7, GNA – Mr Seth Adjei-Baah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkawkaw has called on Ghanaians to bury their political differences and support President John Atta Mills’ administration to steer the affairs of the nation successfully. He said after 52 years of Independence, Ghanaians should be prepared to accept democratic governance and give the government of the day the chance and support to implement its policies and programmes for national development.

Mr Adjei-Baah was addressing the 52nd Independence Anniversary parade of school children and voluntary organisations in the Kwahu West Municipality at Nkawkaw.

He advised the people to put the result of last year’s elections behind them and unite to solve the education, health and unemployment problems facing the constituency.

The MP said he would invite foreign investors to the constituency to study the agricultural potentials in the area in order to assist them to increase production and processing for export to generate adequate income to enhance their living standard.

The District Co-ordinating Director, Mr Thomas Ba-Innimayeh, urged the people to maintain the prevailing peace in the area to enable them forge in unity for the development of the constituency. He advised them to rise against rancour, political acrimony, ethnic and religious violence, and that they must tolerate each others’ view for the development of the society.

More than 1,300 school children and voluntary organizations took part in the parade.

In a related development, some 1,200 school children and voluntary organizations held a march past at Mpraeso to mark the Independence anniversary celebration in the Kwahu South District.

Addressing the parade, the District Coordinating Director, Mr Samuel Larbi, said the nation’s development could not thrive in a society where there were chaos, rancour, acrimony, antagonism and apathy and urged them to unite and contribute towards development.
