MP to initiate scholarship scheme for needy pupils

Kumasi, Feb 7, GNA- Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Bantama, has announced plans to initiate a scholarship scheme for needy but intelligent pupils at the basic level in March this year.

She made this known when she donated 10,000 exercise books worth 12 million cedis, to 26 selected basic schools in her Constituency in Kumasi on Monday.

Some of the schools include Bantama Methodist Primary and Junior Secondary School (JSS), Bantama Presbyterian Primary and JSS and Abrepo Local Authority Primary and JSS.

Madam Dapaah said she had planned to introduce a reward scheme to teachers to motivate them for hard work.

Mr Johnny Owusu-Boadi, Assistant Director of Education in-charge of the Bantama Sub-Metro thanked the MP on behalf of the beneficiary schools.
