MP supports Nsuaem child development centre

Essaman-Nsuaem (W/R), Jan. 28, GNA- Mrs Gifty Kusi, Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem has presented 30 bags of cement and roofing sheets to the Essaman-Nsuaem community for the completion of its early childhood development centre.

Construction of the centre, which was initiated by the community about a year ago, and now at the lintel level, is estimated to cost more than 40 million cedis.

Presenting the items, Mrs Kusi said they were purchased from her share of the MP’s share of the common fund. She reaffirmed the government’s determination to improve the lot of the people. Mr Daniel Obeng, assembly member for the area, thanked the MP for the gesture and appealed for more support from individuals, institutions and the Wassa West District Assembly to enable them execute a number of projects initiated by the community.

He said the Ghana Rubber Estates Limited (GREL) had made similar donation towards the completion of the centre.

Meanwhile, the people have renewed their appeal to GREL to release parts of its old plantation to them for development.

Mr Charles Arhin, the area Unit Committee chairman, said this would ensure the orderly development of the town to meet the ever-increasing population.
