MP spends rehabilitates school

Kumasi, Sept 27, GNA – The dilapidated Adukrom M/A Junior Secondary School building, which was recently rehabilitated by Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, Member of Parliament for Asawase at the cost of 150 million cedis, has been commissioned.

A total of 100 million cedis out of the amount spent on the rehabilitation came from the MP’S GETFUND while 28 million cedis came from his share of the Common Fund.

The community contributed the five million cedis and provided communal labour.

The rehabilitation works involved re-roofing, flooring, painting and erection of new pillars.

Alhaji Mubarak said he decided to focus more on development of educational facilities because he realized that under-development of the constituency was due to the low level of education. Nana Adu Gyamfi, the Adukromhene, commended the MP for his concern for progress of education in the area.

He appealed to parents to enrol their children in school but complained about the parking of articulated vehicles on the school premises.

He appealed to the MP to liase with the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to find a permanent solution to the problem.
