MP re-elected to contest New Edubiase parliamentary seat

New Edubiase (Ash), April 27, GNA – Mr. Ernest Kofi Yakah, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for New Edubiase was on Friday re-elected by popular acclamation to contest the parliamentary seat for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in this year’s general elections. He was the only candidate to file his nomination papers.

Addressing the constituency delegates at a congress at New Edubiase in the Adansi South District, Mr Festus Addai, the Constituency Chairman, called on them to team up with members and supporters of the party to campaign vigorously to enable the NDC retain the seat. He said the party’s target was not only to win the seat but to widen the difference of the previous election results in the constituency.

Mr Addai stressed the need for the party polling station agents to be vigilant during the elections to avoid rigging by other political parties.

Mr Yakah thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to champion the cause of the electorate in parliament when given the mandate to bring meaningful development projects to the Adansi South District.

The MP later donated two motorbikes and 20 bicycles to the party to facilitate their campaign programmes.
