Elmina, July 19, GNA- The Member of Parliament (MP) for Komenda- Edna- Eguafo, Dr. Joseph Annan and personnel of the National Disaster and Management Organisation, have presented relief items to flood victims in the Municipality.
The items include 100 bags of rice, 40 cartons of cooking oil, 1,000 blankets, 1,000 plastic cups, 200 mosquito nets and second hand clothing.
The donation of Dr. Annan, who is also the Deputy Minister of Education, was made on his behalf by his secretary, Mr. Charles Entsuah. The beneficiary communities are Abena, Nkontrodo, Amonda, Abee, Simen, Kofo, Atonkwa, Bronyimona, Ankaful, Iture and Ataabadze. About 1,200 houses were destroyed by three days of downpour including property worth 100,000 Ghana cedis. 19 July 09
