MP pledges instituting a development fund for Bosomtwe

Kuntanase (Ash), Jan 10, GNA – Mr Simon Osei-Mensah, Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe, has pledged to institute a fund to be known as the Bosomtwe Development Fund into which money would be lodged and used to support development projects.

He said even though it was obvious that the Government and the District Assembly made provision for funds for development projects, it was not enough to address the developmental needs of the Constituency and District as a whole.

Mr Osei-Mensah told the GNA in an interview that he would set out a programme to reach out to all citizens of the area, both at home and abroad, and persuade them to donate into the fund. He mentioned poverty particularly as a major problem hindering development of the area. “It is an area we are going to tackle with all vigour from the development fund.”

Mr Osei-Mensah commended the electorate for giving him the mandate to represent them in Parliament, noting that his victory demonstrated the confidence they had in him.

He, however, urged them to back up the confidence they had in him with genuine and full support during his tenure of office as MP to enable him to bring progress and development to bear on the constituency.
