MP pilots free SHS policy in his constituency

Even before the his party gets elected to rule the country in the coming December polls and implement its flagship campaign slogan of offering free education at the Senior High School level, NPP Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira West, Ben Ayeh has offered to provide free SHS education to students in his constituency.

Mr. Ben Ayeh facilitated the construction of newly constructed Ayamfuri Senior High School with his share of the MPs common fund with the assistance of GETfund, HIPC Fund and from his own resource base.

The MP said he will ensure that all students who will qualify for admission into the newly built 17 unit Ayamfuri SHS in the 2012/2013 academic year, benefit from free SHS policy.

He said his decision is to demystify the view held by ruling National Democratic Congress that the free SHS policy was not doable.

About three hundred (300) first year students are expected to be admitted into the school. The compound has two separate blocks; a two storey 12 classroom block and another five classroom block. It is currently being ran as a community day school.
