MP for Sawla/Tuna/Kalba involved in accident

Wa, Aug. 4, GNA – Mr. Soditey Dari, Member of Parliament (MP) for Sawla/Tuna/Kalba in the Northern Region on Saturday got involved in a lorry accident, sustaining serious body injuries and flown to Accra on Monday for medical attention, after a short admission at the Wa Regional Hospital.

Mr. Dari, who was driving a Nissan pick-up with registration number GT 2299 X by Soditey James, 27 with other person on board were returning from Wa when the vehicle veered off its lane and collided with a Saloon Passat car coming from the opposite direction at Piisi near Wa. Mr John F. Dzineku, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in-charge of Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU), briefing the Ghana News Agency on the accident, said Mr Kwashie Walanyo, 46, and a staff of the Town and Country Planning Department in Wa, who were in the Passat car with registration number GT 5247 S died shortly on admission at the Wa Regional Hospital, while Saam Musah, a mechanic died on the spot. One other person, Mr Kanda Gaddafi, who was also in the car is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Mr Dzineku said the Passat car was on trial after repair works were carried out on it. He said the bodies of Walanyo and Musah had been released to family members for burial.
