MP-elect commends Ghanaians for peaceful election

Kuntanase (Ash), Dec 12, GNA – Mr Simon Osei Mensah, Member of Parliament-elect (MP-elect) for Bosomtwe, has commended Ghanaians for their massive turn out at the polls and electing him to represent the constituency.

He said the turn out was unprecedented in the electoral history of Ghana and for that matter Ghanaians needed to be highly commended. Mr Mensah was speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Kuntanase on Saturday on his impression about the just-ended elections. He said although there were some few incidents, they were minimal and could not change the high percentage of voters recorded during the elections.

The MP-elect also lauded the performance of the media which gave full and accurate coverage of the election resulting in peace and success of the event.

Mr Mensah, however, cautioned against victors using their victory in the elections to fuel chaos and trouble, saying, “You should celebrate your victory devoid of any troubles”.

He said now that the elections were over what should engage the attention of Ghanaians is devising appropriate measures for uniting the country.
