MP donates to support development project

Baamiri Sept 16, GNA – Mr Addai Simons, the Member of Parliament for Techiman South, has donated six million cedis to support a market project initiated by the people of Baamiri.

Mr John Kwasi Kwao, the Assembly Member for the area, told Ghana News Agency at Baamiri that the people had bought three bundles of roofing sheets, nails and roofing boards for the project. He described the MP’s donation as “very timely” as the market women sold under the scorching sun and found it difficult to operate at the market whenever it rained.

Mr Kwao said the main challenge facing the community was the lack of places of convenience as the population of more than 1,500 people used an eight-seat place of convenience and appealed to the Techiman Municipal Assembly to provide them with two more. The Assembly Member appealed to the assembly to tar the road leading from Techiman to Baamiri.
