The amount came from his share of the Common Fund.

He donated 100 million cedis worth of furniture to 12 schools and gave 35 million cedis to schools at Oyibi for an electrification project, canteen for the primary level and completion of a teacher’s bungalow. The public school at Santoe and Kpoi-Ete villages had 10 million cedis each for the construction of a canteen and provision of potable water respectively.

Nii Laryea also presented a 29-inch television set to the police personnel at Kpone to enable them watch the FIFA World Cup. Making the presentation at a ceremony at Katamanso, the MP said as the capitation grant had increased enrolment, the teachers and children needed good facilities to enhance teaching and learning.
