MP donates motorbike for best teacher award

Goaso (B/A), June 2, GNA – Mr. Robert Sarfo Mensah, Member of Parliament for Asunafo North, has donated a motorbike to be presented to this year’s best teacher in the municipality. Presenting the item to the Municipal Directorate of Education at Goaso, Mr. Mensah said he used part of his MP’s Common Fund to purchase the bike to boost the morale of teachers to work harder to improve educational standards in the area.

He said he was touched by the plight of teachers working in deprived communities and that he would continue to support and to encourage such teachers.

Mr. Mensah pledged to help improve the standard of education in the area through the provision of learning and teaching materials. Mrs. Elizabeth Desouza, Municipal Director of Education who received the motor bike, thanked the MP, who also helped to renovate dilapidated school buildings in the area. 02 June 08
