MP donates computers to Krachi Nchumuru District

Mr John Majisi, National Democratic Congress, Member of Parliament (MP) for Krachi Nchumuru, has donated 25 computers and 1,000 exercise books to the Krachi Nchumuru District Directorate of Education in the Volta Region.

The computers were secured from the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications, at the request of Mr Majisi to facilitate the teaching and learning of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the district.

Mr Majisi presented the computers to Mr Tsuiatorfe Stephen, Acting District Director of Education.

He noted that the defining features of the 21st century are globalisation and knowledge based society.

He said the computers would support students in the study of ICT which every country in the world is promoting.

The MP said giving the citizenry quality education is important to strengthen the country’s human resource base.

He said the district and the British Council in Accra are collaborating to link schools in the area and the United Kingdom in a student exchange programme.

Mr Stephen said the computers would go a long way to help the district and expressed appreciation to the MP for the gesture.

He appealed to government and non-governmental organisations to help the district.

The Krachi Nchumuru District was carved out of the Krachi West District by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development in 2011.
