MP donates bulbs to community

Obogu (Ash), Aug 10, GNA – Mrs Gifty Ohene-Konadu, Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante-Akim South, has donated six streetlight bulbs valued GH=A22,500 (25 million cedis) to residents of Obogu near Juaso. The bulbs, which were procured through the initiative of the MP in collaboration with some donor organizations, were to help improve security in the community as it had no streetlight.

The donation was the first in the distribution of 100 bulbs to some communities in the district with electricity who had appealed to the MP for such assistance.

Mrs Ohene-Konadu, who also donated some toiletries and sanitary equipment, inaugurated a GH=A215,000 (150,000 million cedis) 20-seat water closet toilet facility.

She assured the people that she was committed to addressing their concerns and urged them to exercise patience in their demands. On the toilet facility, the MP appealed to the chief to take keen interest in its management to avoid financial malfeasance and ensure proper maintenance.

Nana Owusu Asiamah II, chief of Obogu, commended the MP for her numerous support to the community.
