MP donate items to his constituency

Aputuogya (Ash), Sept 27, GNA — Mr Simon Osei-Mensah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Bosomtwe in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma district, has donated educational and building materials to 28 communities in his constituency.

The items, valued at more than 200 million cedis, included 1,000 bags of cement, 26 packets of roofing sheets, 22 boxes of nails, 10 sewing machines, a mower, water pumping machine, three refrigerators and assorted sawn wood for roofing.

The communities received between 20 and 50 bags of cement, and other items to rehabilitate school buildings and construct culverts. Making the donation at Aputuogya, the MP said the presentation formed the second phase of his support to the communities, saying last year, he presented similar packages to other communities and institutions from his share of the common fund, the GETFund and with funds from some donor agencies.

He advised the communities to make judicious use of the items. Mrs Dora Doris Amaniampong, District Director of Education, commended the MP for his vision and support for education in the area.
