MP consoles disaster victims

Mangoase (E/R), April 18, GNA – Mr William Boafo, the Deputy Minister of Defence, has assured over 600 victims of a rainstorm disaster at Mangoase of his readiness to support them to rehabilitate their houses.

The rainstorm that hit the town and its surrounding villages affected over 100 houses.

He said this when he accompanied Mrs Eugenia Danquah-Quist, the acting Akuapem North District Chief Executive, and the District Co-ordinator of NADMO, Mr Seth Okyere, to inspect damage the rainstorm caused last Saturday.

Mr Boafo, the Member of Parliament for Akropong, advised the people to plant trees to serve as wind brakes to help prevent similar disaster. Some of the public buildings that were also affected included the Presbyterian Primary School, Methodist Primary School, the Apostolic Church and the Cocoa Marketing Board warehouse. 18 April 05
