MP appeals to Moslems to unite for development

Goaso (B/A), Jan. 19, GNA – Mr. Benjamin Osei Kufuor, Member of Parliament for Asunafo North, has appealed to Muslim communities to consider themselves as integral part of the communities in which they reside to ensure that their legitimate demands are met to enable them to lead meaningful lives. He made the appeal while presenting a generator and introducing a contractor working on the extension of electricity to the Zongo community in Goaso.

The MP urged Moslems to unite and support the implementation of the government’s programmes to reduce abject poverty among the people. “The NPP government has demonstrated ample commitment to solving debilitating problems facing the people and it is determined to tackle all unfulfilled promises”, he said.

Mr George Yaw Boakye, Asunafo District Chief Executive, commended the communal spirit of the Moslems and urged them to keep it up. He cautioned them against politicians who would lure them with lies and promises for their votes and asked them to assess prospective politicians of their programmes and past achievements.

Mr Boakye urged the Moslems to register when the voter registration exercise starts, explaining that the registration was not only vital for the voting process but also necessary for data required in the distribution of development projects. He asked them to also to register for the District Health Insurance Scheme to make basic health care accessible to as many residents as possible in the Zongo community.
