MP advices transport owners to put vehicles in good condition

Adoagyiri-Nsawam (E/R), June 7, GNA – The Member of Parliament (MP)for Aburi-Nsawam, Mr Osei Bonsu Amoah has called on transport owners to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition before they are put on the roads. He said this would go a way in helping to curb the rampant motor accidents and the lost of lives.

Mr Amoah gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Nsawam in the Eastern Region during the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the local Orthopaedic Training Centre.

He said he was appalled at the frequent accidents that occurred on the Accra-Nsawam-Kumasi road and urged drivers to exercise restraint when driving and also avoid over-speeding and alcoholism to save lives and property.

Mr Amoah commended Rev Tarcisius de Ruyster, Founder of the centre for assisting physically challenged patients.

He pledged GH¢10,000 to support the rehabilitation of the centre. Nana Afutu Dompreh II, Chief of Adoagyiri and also the Ankobeahene of Akim Kotoku Traditional Area who chaired the function advised chiefs in the area to release lands for the expansion of the centre to cater for the patients.
