Moves To Improve Quality Of Education In Central Regional Underway

Abura Dunkwa (C/R), June 27, – The Central Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) is working out modalities to improve upon the quality of education in the region. To this end, the RCC will set up a commission to liaise with district assemblies to organise special seminars for parents on the Free Compulsory Universal Basic Education (FCUBE) and other issues Mr Kojo Yankah, Central Regional Minister announced this when he addressed the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese district assembly yesterday during which he swore in two new assembly members who were elect They are Mr S.K. Arku for Koradu and Mr Francis Ennin for Batanyaa electoral areas. Mr Yankah mentioned that the high school drop-out rate in the region is a disturbing issue that needs to be addressed without delay. On chieftaincy, the minister urged chiefs to settle their differences for the region to forge ahead in development adding that chieftaincy and land conflicts are retarding the region’s progress
