Moves To Divest state Insurance Corporation

The Divestiture Implementation Committee has signed a contract with a consortium of local and foreign companies headed by sterling International Incorporated of Washington, on the divestiture of the State Insurance Corporation. The consortium will provide the necessary technical advise in the sales of 40% shares of SIC to a strategic investor while an additional 30% will be sold to the public. The Executive Secretary of the Divestiture Implementation Committee. Mr. Emmanuel Agbodo who signed on behalf of Ghana said the most important thing is to see to it that the SIC is divested within the shortest possible fine. He hoped strategic investors will come forward for the shares. Mr.. Roger Jantio, the managing director of sterling International Incorporated who signed for the local and foreign consortium, assured Ghana that his company will do everything possible to attract strategic investors who will enthusiastically buy the shares and help SIC to develop.
