Movement supports police investigations into serial killings at Suhum

Suhum, Feb. 25, GNA – The People’s Independent Movement (PIM), a civil society organization, has urged the police at Suhum to avoid the mistakes they made in the arrest of some youth and other residents during a previous exercise in the area to enable them achieve maximum co-operation and support of the public in their investigations into murder cases in the area.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Movement in Koforidua and signed by Nana Addo Aikins, its spokesman. The statement commended the police for initiating the investigations into the several murders in the Suhum area in recent times and suggested that the investigations should be more thorough than before, so as to help end once and for all, the fears of the people of Suhum and its surrounding communities.

It said information that some of the dead bodies had lost some of their parts suggested that the forces at play in the Suhum mystery deaths could be attributable to ordinary criminals or the nation’s usual armed robbers only, but also largely to other forces of darkness. The Movement suggested that for the investigation to achieve maximum success, the searchlight needed to be thrown out in wider dimensions to get other enclaves of suspicious characters in focus, having regard to the nature of the offences committed. It advised all Suhum residents to give maximum co-operation to the investigators on the case and forget about the past since the peace that might be earned through the efforts of the investigators would be theirs.
