Motor accident claims three lives at Assin Enyinabirim

Assin Enyinabirim (C/R), Jan. 5, GNA – Three people died on the spot and five others injured when the vehicle they were travelling on got involved in an accident at the outskirt of Assin Enyinabirim on Sunday night. The police gave the names of the dead as Philip Ofori 20, Jemima Obeng, 45 and Kwame Botwe, 40.

The Assin Fosu police division commander, Mr Godact Hlordzi, said the injured are on admission at St. Xavier Hospital at Assin Fosu. He said a Hyundai mini bus travelling from Kumasi to Takoradi ran into the rear of a Nissan bus also travelling from Fosu to Accra. The Nissan skidded off the road killing three passengers on board while 5 passengers in the Hyundai vehicle sustained injuries.

Three fatal motor accidents were recorded by the police at Assin Fosu during the Christmas and New Year festivities and eight people lost their lives and more than ten people were injured. There were three motor accidents the same period last year but no deaths were recorded. 05 Jan10
