Motivational Speaker urges Ghanaian women to create second income source

Mrs Paulina Ansah, Administrative Manager of the Great Commission Church International has urged Ghanaian women not to rely solely on single source of income.

She said looking at the present economic situation Ghanaian women found themselves in, it was very difficult to be a house wife without working or to rely only on a single regular income.

Mrs Ansah, a motivational speaker said this on Tuesday in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra.

She said aside the regular income; a woman could under take petty trading with the help of house helps, soap making, set up a bakery or create backyard gardens to supplement the family’s income.

She advised those with higher degrees to think of taking up part-time appointments as lecturers in tertiary schools.

Mrs Ansah said gone were the days when the woman’s role was to be a house wife or a farmer.

According to her, although women face lots of challenges such as being a wife, mother, taking care of the home and been a worker, they need to work harder to help their husbands.

“The economic situation makes it such that no woman can just be a housewife, you have to find work doing to be able to support yourself, your husband and the family,” Mrs Ansah reiterated.

She advised women to rise up to the task of upgrading themselves at all levels especially in education.

She noted that the role played by women in the lives of the Churches globally cannot be emphasised.

Mrs Ansah admonished women in the ministry especially lady pastors, pastor’s wives and deaconesses to keep the faith alive, so that through their exemplary leadership others could be won into the Christian faith.

She admonished women to be virtuous as well as industrious.

She was full of praise for working mothers, adding: “Your labour is not in vein, you will surely be rewarded, keep it up,” she said.
