Mother remanded for abandoning daughter to die

Tema, Feb 10, GNA – A 20-year mother of two whose baby fell from the eight floor of the dilapidate Meridian Hotel and died has appeared before the Tema Circuit Court ‘B’ charged with exposing the child to danger without supervision.

The accused, Lucy Fiamordzi, pleaded not guilty and would reappear on February 17.

Chief Inspector Edith Nutakor told the court that Lucy has been living with her husband one Kwabena Obour, a labourer at Tema Port, with their two children in the building for sometime now.

On February 9 Lucy left the deceased, Magdalene Fiamordzi, on the eighth floor of the building to dispose of rubbish downstairs but few minutes later she fell from the floor to the ground floor and died instantly.
