Tema, July 14, GNA – A Circuit Court ‘B’ in Tema has remanded in custody a woman and her son for causing unlawful harm.
Adwoa Sumalia, the first accused and Mallam Musah the second accused, had pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on July 27, 2004.
Police Inspector Sarah Aggrey Acquah told the Court, presided over by Mr Stephen Teye, that at about 2100 hours on June 6, 2004, the complainant (a mason) went to Adwoa who operates a drinking spot and enquired about his sister.
The first accused became offended and instructed the complainant to leave.
While the complainant was complying with the order, Adwoa followed him and pushed him to the floor.
Inspector Acquah said at about 1930 hours, on June 11, 2004, Adwoa allegedly ordered his son and an accomplice to attack the complaint without provocation.
The Mason suffered cutlass wounds on his head and the left hand and was left in a pool of blood.
Inspector Acquah said a sympathiser rushed the victim to Eagle Clinic at Community 16 in Tema where the complainant was admitted.
