Moslems to start Ramadan fasting

Accra, Oct 14, GNA – Moslems throughout the country will start this year’s Ramadan fasting at dawn on Thursday, 14th October 2004. A statement in Accra by the Hilal Committee of Ghana, signed by Sheikh M M Gedel, Chairman of the Committee, said the new moon was sighted at Kasoa, in the Central Region and Yeji, in the Brong Ahafo in the evening of Wednesday, October 13 2004.

It said that on the authority of the National Chief Imam and the Ameer and Missionary in charge of the Ahmadiya Muslim Mission, Moslems should start the fast on Thursday.

The Committee expressed its best wishes to Moslems throughout the World for a successful Ramadan fasting.
