Moslems asked to pray for peaceful elections

Takoradi, Sept.14, GNA – Moslem have been urged to use the Ramadan prayer and fasting period to ask for God’s wisdom and blessings to enable the people to choose a deserving leader for the country in the upcoming elections.

They should also use the period to ask for His mercies to ensure peaceful election, so that the country’s image as one of the most peaceful in the World would be maintained.

These were contained in a statement signed by Mr Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Takoradi in the December general election.

“It is the hope and believes of the NPP that Moslems in the country would pray for unity, peace and reconciliation as the nation goes to the polls in December”, the statement said.

It said Moslems should also, in their prayers, ask God to make the oil find in the country a blessing for all the people. 14 Sept 08
