Moslems and Christians told to co-exist

Tema, Jan 10, GNA – The Greater Accra Regional Missionary of the Ahmaddiyya Mission, Maulvi Raghib Zia-ul-Hag, on Tuesday called on Muslims and Christians to learn to co-exist in the interest of peace and harmony to promote development.

Leading the Ahmaddiyya sect of the Tema Circuit in prayers to mark this year’s Edi-ul-Adha, he asked the Jews, Christians and Muslims alike, to pay true homage to Ibrahim by casting away any differences among them and not to hate each other.

He stressed the need for the three sects to join hands in an effort to promote and inculcate moral values and admonish against the committing of evil deeds.

The Maulvi regretted that despite the technological advancement, we have not learnt to live with each other in peace and harmony and urged all to emulate the Prophet Ibrahim, who sacrificed his son Issaka, through sacrifice to promote peace on earth.

“There is the need therefore for unceasing prayers as Ibrahim, a peace maker bowed on the slightest will of God to achieve him intention”. “Today, Jews, Christians and Muslims continue to claim to be the physical or spiritual progeny of Ibrahim, but practically, by carrying a grudge against each other, they fail to be paying respect to that great patriarch” he said.

The Maulvi said by making the progeny of Ibrahim into such great nations, the will of God seemed to unite them and not divide them and urged all to follow suit.
