Mormons donate to Saint Joseph Hospital.

Koforidua, March 20, GNA- The Women’s Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints has donated medical and food items worth over 60 million cedis to patients of the St Joseph’s Hospital at Koforidua on Saturday.

The items, donated under the aegis of the Koforidua branch of the church, included surgical kits, braces and splints and food items. Rev Fr John Oppong, Administrator of the hospital who received the items, thanked the LDS for the gesture and appealed to other public-spirited organizations to assist the hospital discharge its mandate to the people.

He said the hospital, which specializes in orthopaedic medical care, will need the support of all in its bid to help patients suffering from orthopaedic problems lead meaningful lives.

Madam Comfort Adu, President of the Koforidua District Women’s Relief Society of the church who presented the items, promised more support for the hospital and similar institutions in the future in an attempt to give meaning to Christianity.
