More towns in Gomoa to get electricity

Gomoa Nkran (C/R), Sept 23, GNA – A Deputy Minister of Employment and Social Welfare, Mrs Ama Benyiwa-Doe, has advised people in the rural areas to use electricity being extended to them to generate employment for the youth.

Mrs. Benyiwa-Doe, who is the Member of Parliament for Gomoa West, stressed that the facility must help to arrest the drift of the youth to the cities and urban centres. She made the call when she briefed the people of Gomoa Nkran and Gomoa Abonko on the programme to connect the area to the national electricity grid before the end of the year.

The MP urged the chiefs and opinion leaders to ensure that at least 30 per cent of the houses in their communities are wired. Nana Ayibaw Mbir, Nyimfahene of Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area and Nana Kofi Biney, Mankrado of Gomoa Abonko, expressed gratitude to the Deputy Minister for her untiring efforts to help improve the living conditions of the people.
