They are leaving to take up new appointments in Australia and Kuwait where they will manage and control plants being modeled after the Residual Catalytic Cracker (RFCC) of TOR.
The two countries are poaching technical experts from developing countries especially Ghana is to cut down cost of training technicians on the plants, a reliable source in Tema said.
Ghanaians joining the bandwagon are mostly engineers and technicians from the Quality Control Unit, Maintenance, Movement of Products and Instrumentation units.
Others are from the water treatment section safety and environment. Electrical and the Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) of TOR.
Information available indicates that the continued increase in fuel prices globally, many countries are building RFCCs to extract more petroleum products for higher yields.
Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa are the only African countries operating the RFCC.
While workers at TOR are paid between 200 and 300 dollars, the poaching countries are offering between 3,000 to 3,500 Euros.
Most Asian countries including Oman and Qatar are about to begin the operation of the RFCCs, while Australia and Kuwait are being assisted by Koreans who built Ghana?s RFCC to build theirs.
