More schools to be fed in Dormaa

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Aug. 25, GNA – Three thousand more basic school pupils will join the existing 1,500 beneficiaries of the School Feeding Programme in Dormaa Municipality next academic year.

Mr Vincent Oppong Asamoah, Municipal Chief Executive, told the GNA in an interview that preparations were far advanced for the smooth implementation of the project.

He said the two Dormaa districts had so far received 2,763 school uniforms and 167,406 exercise books for distribution to schools under the supervision of Dormaa Municipal Directorate of Education.

Mr Oppong Asamoah said in view of the government’s massive investment in education the Assembly would deal ruthlessly with parents or guardians who would refuse to enrol their children in school.

He said a task force would soon be constituted to assist chiefs and unit committees to monitor parents and their children as part of the Assembly’s determination to get all children to attend school and punish the recalcitrant ones.
