More recruits pass out of GIS Training School

The trainees were taught French, Public Relations, Financial and crisis management, and investigative surveillance. Captain (Rtd) Nkrabea Effah-Darteh, Deputy Minister for the Interior, reviewed the passing out parade during which he presented a prize to Mr Isaac Ogyiri as the overall best recruit.

Mr Ogyiri was also adjudged the most disciplined recruit. In an address, Capt. Effah-Darteh, repeated warnings to members of the public not to scramble for admission into the Service with the notion that it was an avenue to get rich quick.

He acknowledged the poor working conditions within the Service such as low salaries and inadequate accommodation and transport. Captain Effah-Darteh reiterated the government’s preparedness to reverse the situation, as well as provide the Service with the requisite equipment to enhance security at the country’s borders. He also called on members of the public, to collaborate with security personnel to improve security at the borders.
