More rains to hit Tarkwa

Tarkwa, June 2, GNA – Mr. Samuel Kwesi, a Senior Technical Officer of the Meteorological Department, has said rainfall figures gathered over a 40-day period in the first quarter of this year measured 662.6 millimetres for Tarkwa alone and this is an indication that the municipality would experience more rains.

Mr. Kwesi told the GNA in an interview that the department recorded the highest rainfall of 76.5 millimetres on February 25 while September 12 last year recorded the highest rainfall of 68.8millimeters.

He said the worst month in 2009 was July 7 when it rained for two weeks with the total rainfall being 137.1 millimetres.
