More Irrigation Dams for Bongo

Bongo (UE), Dec.14, GNA – Mr Clement Akugre, Bongo District Chief Executive (DCE) has stated that the Government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a pro- poor government that has the people of the North at heart, hence it is making everything possible to ensure the living conditions of the people are improved.

He said the Bongo District rehabilitated four dams in 2010, adding that plans were far advanced to construct the Akosariga dam to serve adjourning communities such as Kadare, Kodoro and Goo.

The Apaatanga dam which breached its banks was also being considered for repair through the collaboration of MOFA and the World Food Programme (WFP), the DCE said.
