More fire burns Boateng Gyan

…GAF petitioned

Masses in Support of Change (MISCO), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), have petitioned the Ghana Armed Forces to conduct investigations into the leaked tape of the National Organizer of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Yaw Boateng.

Mr. Boateng Gyan has come under a lot of public attention after he was caught on tape discussing with some unidentified persons, where he disclosed that there are some members of the NDC who are also soldiers in the Ghana Armed Forces who also work at the NDC party headquarters.

MISOC is demanding that, an independent investigation is conducted to identify those soldiers who also double as politicians in the Ghana Armed Forces and appropriate sanctions applied as their continuous stay in the Ghana Armed Forces is a threat to national security.

Secondly, the petition is demanding of the Ghana Armed Forces to assure the general public that it would not work for any political party and would put the nation’s interest first, before, during and after the 2012 general elections.

The group stated that as it stands now the general public would not be able to identify an NDC soldier from a real soldier particularly during a crisis.

Frank Asiedu Bekoe, Director of Communications and Operations of MISCO presented the petition as well as a copy of the audio tape yesterday to the Public Relations Directorate of the Ghana Armed Forces, and was received by Lt. Andy La-Anyane of the Public Affairs Directorate of the Ghana armed Forces.
