More farms in Asutifi North saved from army worms

The Asutifi North District Directorate of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) says it has recovered 97 percent of the 986 hectares of maize farms affected by the fall army worms in the district.

The Directorate, however, added that the farms were not totally destroyed as reported in the media, but “these farms were affected by the fall army worms”.

A statement signed by Mr James Adu, the District Director of Agriculture, and copied to the Ghana News Agency said “all the affected fields formed cobs and farmers are either harvesting or have harvested their produce”.
