More Eu Projects Lined Up For Wenchi District

Wenchi (Brong Ahafo), 8 Dec.,

Mr.. Abdulai Zakari, district Co-ordinating Director of Wenchi, has said that under the on-going fourth micro projects by the European Union (EU) and the Government, give additional projects have been approved for the assembly. This is the result of the effective execution and supervision of the 13 projects being executed in the district. In an interview with the GNA at the weekend, Mr. Zakari baid the five projects are going to cost 130 million cedis and will involve the construction of a day-care centre at Wenchi, 10 market stalls at subinso, a three classroom block Njan Tanoso, a three-classroom block at Koase and a latrine at Wenchi. he said the assembly would ensure the effective use of the assembly’s share of the common fund adding that a technical committee of the assembly has been formed to oversee the supervision of all projects in the district. Mr.. Zakari said one unique feature with the committee is that assembly members in whose electoral area a project is located are ex-officio members of the committee to ensure transparency. He said it is the policy of the assembly not to pay for any contract executed that has not been endorsed by the assembly member concerned.
