More children immunised in Dormaa District

Dormaa Ahenkro (B/A), May 21, GNA- A total of 47,814 children in the Dormaa District of Brong Ahafo were immunised against polio during the second round of the National Immunisation programme in March this year.

Mr Bernard Acheampong, Dormaa District National Immunisation Day Co-ordinator disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Dormaa Ahenkro on Thursday.

He attributed the success of the exercise to adequate publicity, support from other departments and the interest shown by mothers. The co-ordinator acknowledged support from the Dormaa District Assembly and the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) and said a similar exercise would be held next October and December and appealed to nursing mothers to patronise it.
