Montessori style early educational centre opens in Ho

Happy Stars International School, a Montessori style early childhood educational centre has opened in Ho with the pledge to positively change the face of education in the area.

Nelson Gbadagba, Director, speaking at the formal inauguration on Thursday said the hallmarks of the school would be conscientiousness, vigorous supervision and monitoring.

He said the school, which uses a lot of modern learning and instructional wares, would also instill good moral values in its pupils.

Mr Alexander Mawusi Boadi, Ho Municipal Director of Education in a speech read for him, observed that laxity in reading and writing among pupils and students was a big challenge for schools in the area.

Mrs Fafa Adinyira, Ho Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said it was important content in school programmes reflected the skill needs of the country.

Montessori type of teaching revolves round the individual capacities and interests, within the larger framework of instruction.
