Money-Chasing pastors must repent

Obuasi, March 22, GNA – The Reverend Enoch Owusu Sampah, the General Overseer of the Transfiguration Chapel International, has chastised pastors who are using the gospel to amass wealth instead of preaching the truth about Christ.

“God wants ministers of the gospel to tell the truth to the people so= as to change their attitudes for the betterment of the country,” he said. Rev. Owusu Sampah, who was speaking at the third anniversary celebration of the church at Obuasi, observed: “Now most pastors have ignored their responsibility of preaching the truth about Christ and have become wealth-chasing men of God.”

The theme for the celebration is: “And I Myself will be a Wall of Fire around You, and I will be Its Glory.”

The General Overseer said it was time ministers of the gospel and the entire Christian community rose to speak against the evils in society, which are not helping the growth and development of the nation.

He said Ghanaians have been blaming governments upon governments forgetting that, 93our own attitudes and behaviours are crippling the progress and development of the country.”

According to the General Overseer, most workers in the public sector spend greater part of their working hours on private matters. “Time for work is not time for conversation, time for work, is not ti= me to work on lotto papers, time for work, is not time to go on private errands,” he stressed.

Rev. Owusu-Sampah complained about the general lack of sacrifice, stressing that, “now people do not want to sacrifice for the nation”. On the peace in the country, Rev. Owusu-Sampah advised Ghanaians to work for its sustenance by avoiding utterances that could divide the nation.
