Monday, July 2, is a public holiday

President John Evans Atta Mills has by Executive Instrument declared Monday, July 2, a Public Holiday and urged the public to observe it as such throughout the country.

A statement issued in Accra by Mr. William K. Aboah, the Minister of the Interior, explained that the decision was made in view of the fact that July 1, the Republic Day, falls on a Sunday.**
