MoH delegation storms Tepa Nursing school over fraud claims

A seven-member delegation from the Ministry of Health led by the deputy minister of Health Tina Mensah and Dr. Kwasi Asabre acting director of human resource for health directorate among others today stormed the Tepa Nursing and Midwifery Training College to probe claims of fraud levelled against the Principal and the accountant of the institution.

The Principal of the college in the Ahafo Ano North district of the Ashanti region, Ms. Victoria Amoah and the accountant Asamoah Richard are alleged to have been involved in a massive GH?9, 247,800 admission fraud.

The two administrative members allegedly used fake receipts and invoices to milk the government institution during every admission year.

The alleged corrupt practice began in 2011 two years after the college was established.

A deep throat source within the management of the school and a teaching staff confirmed the corrupt practices of the two administrators with documents to back their claims.

Attempts by the Police to quiz the principal proved futile after she failed to honour several invitations by the Police.

Her decision not to respond to the calls was based on an alleged advise by the health minister Dr Kwaku Agyemang Manu not to show up source at the health ministry has said.

According to reports gathered by Ultimate FM’s Isaac Bediako the delegation met with students and administrative staff of the institution to ascertain the veracity of the claims reported in the media.

The seven-member delegation will also meet the principal of the college and the traditional authorities of Tepa including the paramount Chief of the Tepa Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem I, as the probe into the fraud allegations continues.
