The family of Issah Mobilla, the CPP?s Northern Regional chairman who died in military custody, ahs made a u-turn in their request for an independent enquiry into the death of their son.

They are now demanding that the body be released to them for burial immediately.

According to the father of the deceased, who returned from Burkina Faso, they are no longer interested in the independent autopsy that was ordered by the Inspector General of Police.

He made the request to the Northern Regional Security Council.

Earlier information that reached JoyFm indicated that the Tamale Teaching Hospital, where the body was being kept, had no pathologist to perform the autopsy of the body.

The medical officer in charge of the Hospital told JoyNews correspondent in the area that as it stands now no doctor would want to conduct the autopsy.

The correspondent reports that the doctors claim the death of Mobilla has been over politicised as such the outcome of the autopsy could be disastrous.

Mobilla died in military custody two days after the general elections.
