MMDCEs in Greater Accra Region undergo orientation

Accra, May 18, GNA – The Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council on Monday began a three-day workshop to equip Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Region with requisite administrative skills to effectively perform their duties. It is an in-house exercise preceding the national orientation exercise to be conducted for all MMDCEs nation-wide.

They are Mr Alfred Vanderpuije, Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive, Mr Robert Kempes Ofosuware, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, Mr Numo Adinortey Addison, Ashaiman Municipal Chief Executive, Mrs Nubyl Kakra Vanlare, Adenta Municipal Chief Executive and Mr Daniel Amartey Mensah, Ledzokuku Krowor Municipal Chief Executive.

The rest are Mr Ebenezer Nii Armah Tackie, Ga West Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Rex Daniel Wussah, Dangme East District Chief Executive, Mr Emmanuel Odoi Lartey, Dangme West District Chief Executive, Mr John Kwao Sackey, Ga East Municipal Chief Executive and Mr Sheriff Nii Otoo Dodoo, Ga South Municipal Chief Executive.

Nii Armah Ashietey, Greater Accra Regional Minister, said their confirmation was indicative of the confidence the people had in them and urged them not to disappoint them.

He said there were numerous challenges facing the people at the grassroots and called on them to position themselves to handle them. Nii Ashietey reminded them of their roles as administrators and should use resources judiciously to the benefit of the people. He called on them to reach out to all groups of people irrespective of their political affiliation, be friendly and approachable. They would be taken through the local government system and the assemblies’ standing orders.
