Missing Cheque In Agogo Presby Church Found

Accra, Aug. 25, – The donation of 1,000 dollars by the Calvary Presbyterian Church of Alexandria, Virginia, US, in aid of the Agogo Presbyterian church hospital which could not be traced since November, 1996, has now been found. Mr Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, MP for Asante-Akyem North, who disclosed this to GRi in Accra, said he found the cheque for the money kept by an official in charge of the Presbyterian Health Services at the headquarters, Accra. Efforts are being made to hand it over to the Agogo hospital immediately, he added. Mr Baah-Wiredu said the donation was in response to an appeal by the Agogo Citizens Association in the US to the Calvary Presbyterian church to help provide certain essential equipment to the Agogo hospital. Speaking to GRi on his recent official trip from Canada, the MP said the Agogo Citizens Association in the USA solicited his assistance to help trace the whereabouts of the money to save them from embarrassment before the church. According to him, the request was sent to him in a fax message dated August four, 1997, by Mr Samuel Anyang-Kusi, secretary of the association.
