Missing boy found dead at a refuse dump

Winneba (C/R), July 16, GNA – The 13-year-old boy who was reported missing at the Winneba Zongo last month has been found dead at a refuse dump at Sankro, a suburb of Winneba.

A top police Officer of the Effutu Municipal Police Command made this known to the Ghana News Agency in Winneba on Wednesday. According to him, the relatives of the boy, whose name is being withheld for security reasons, have identified him.

The police officer said the people in the area discovered body believed to have been buried at the site and reported to the Police. He said the body has been exhumed and would be sent to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for examination.

The Police officer did not say if foul play was suspected but said everything would be made known to the public after the examination. He said the police have intensified their investigations to arrest the perpetrators. 16 July 09
